APRE tackle emotional and political topics, engaging in the madness through their music. The duo has found their voice and is going places - literally. You can catch APRE on their first UK tour this February. They've already supported the likes of Sam Fender, Friendly Fires, LANY and Inhaler.
I spoke to APRE about their upcoming tour:
What are you looking forward to most about your first UK headline tour?
We have done so many shows supporting other people that we are so excited to play to our own audience at last, it's going to be very surreal.
Looking forward to returning to Leicester?
Of course! We played The Cookie before and had a great gig, its a really vibey room and you get looked after very well. Also a lovely Chinese next door.
What made you decide to pursue music?
I don't think either of us was very good at anything else? We also come from very musical backgrounds, both our parents always played music around the house growing up and our Dads play instruments so I guess we just fell into it. It all kind of made sense when we met each other and started writing these tunes.
Can you tell us a bit about your most recent single, You're Heart's Like a Jungle?
That song has been knocking about in many different re-incarnations for nearly two years now. We only really started liking it a month ago when we made the drums feel very heavy and almost Drum & Bass like. That was just one of those songs that originally fell out of the sky in about an hour, it was the production that took a while to perfect.
