So who am I watching out for this year? There's a lot of people on my radar, I like a range of music. I get floods of emails from PR agencies informing me about new releases all the time and I honestly love it. Finding new music to listen to is always fun! In fact, my Spotify Wrapped told me that I listened to over 33,000 minutes of music in 2019 which I thought wasn't much but others were shocked by!
Let's have a look at some of the people you should be keeping an eye out for this year:
Larkins
I seriously love these guys. If you're fans of The 1975 then you'll adore Larkins. They have a synth-pop sound with meaningful lyrics. Their bold tracks are fresh and full of depth. They'll be hitting the festivals this year and with their catchy music, I'll be surprised if people don't take to them in the first few bars.
Empara Mi
Empara Mi is an artist that's been brought to my attention by one of the many press releases that I get. Her dramatic music and beautifully thrilling voice works hand in hand curating some gorgeously deep music. I love her spine chilling music and can't get enough of her voice.
Aitch
Who hasn't heard of the name? Aitch has been all over the music scene in 2019 and will be even more so in 2020. I had the chance to see him live last year and it was quite the show. People love him and being only 20, he has some years ahead of him to take over the rap scene.
Inhaler
Inhaler is a band that is going to take this world by storm this year. Their pop/rock sound is something that everyone needs in their lives. Taking after his dad, Elijah Hewson really knows what he is doing with his bandmates; Robert, Josh and Ryan. The dynamics of the band work really well. They've been touring the world, releasing new music and just simply taking the world by storm. I had the chance to interview them when they came to Leicester and see them live when they toured with Blossoms. Inhaler are one of the hottest bands right now.
Loote
I've been listening to Loote for a couple of years, since their release of Your Side of the Bed. Since then, they've been bringing out so many great songs like Back Together, lost and All the Fucking Time. Their upbeat music is bright and energetic despite the topics and I love them. They've already featured on a track with David Guetta and I'm sure they'll be developing their sound in 2020.
Sea Girls
Sea Girls have been on the music scene for a few years now and I've been following what they've been doing since their first single. I interviewed them back in 2018 and have seen them a couple of times live since. They never fail to amaze me. They are one of the biggest indie rock bands on the climb right now. I've seen them go from a small venue to performing at Reading and Leeds with crowds of people singing their lyrics back to them. I can't wait to see what these guys get up to in 2020.
Seafret
Seafret is a duo from Bridlington and has perfected their sound. Jack and Harry have been developing over the years and I had the chance to see them live last year. Their acoustic ballads are full of soul and depth which I can't get enough of. They have recently released a single called Most Of Us Are Strangers ahead of their album which is available to pre-order now. I can't wait to hear it!
Who are your ones to watch for 2020?
Until next time...
