LANY are a LA based alternative trio that released their album Malibu Nights. They've been streamed over 1 billion times and have been creating some brilliant music. I first got into LANY when they released their EP, kinda, in 2016. Made up of Klein (piano/guitar), Le Priest (keyboard/guitar) and Jake Goss (drums/samples), the band have released a brilliant second album that grips you from the very first track.

A few months prior to the release of Malibu Nights, the trio released Thru These Tears. The song is a beautifully written song of the truths of heartbreak. I think this track is a great, uplifting track to listen to on the road to independence after a breakup. The piano heavy song is honest and packed with emotion.

The album as a whole is an emotional story of love - particularly the heartbreak. Each song you listen to is better than the last, every track has truthful and meaningful lyrics. Matched with a wave of eighties style synths, this pop album I'm sure is going to be in the charts.

I truly don't think there is another band like LANY.


Piano ballad, Malibu Nights is one of my favourite songs from the album. Klein's voice is spectacular on all tracks, particularly this one in my opinion.

I really would recommend listening to Malibu Nights. I had high expectations for the album, following their previous self-titled album and EP's, and LANY have exceeded them! This is definitely an album I'll be listening to when I'm doing my college work (aka 24/7).
