I've been to four different schools in the past ten years. Not by choice, this is the system that we had at the time - Primary, High School, College (to sit GCSE's) and a Further Education College. I sat my GCSE's, finished my BTEC and got a full-time job. I had my Prom, organised another Prom, had my first boyfriend, competed in dance competitions, sang at the Royal Albert Hall in London, created a magazine, was able to visit the Capital FM studios and so much more - all because of what I did at school.
I encourage anybody who is still in school to make the most of it and create as many opportunities for yourself as possible because you can use so many of the skills you learn in later life - you also have a lot of fun doing these things too!
Not only did school present me with loads of experiences but so did my blog. One Unique has seen me meet my childhood idol, Tom Daley, I've had my face in every Superdrug around the country on a promotional poster, I've interviewed some super interesting people, been to festivals and events and also made so many new friends.
On a personal level, I've dealt with anxiety, an eating disorder and depression. I've been bullied, I've also saved some people's lives through not only being there for them but other acts such as acting quickly in the swimming pool.
An old friend of mine got back in touch a little while ago and it was lovely to know that despite what happened, I have her back in my life even if she's not going to be as close as we once were. She taught me that getting back in touch with people isn't always bad and has made me reconsider other friendships that have ended. In 2020, I want to reach out to some older friends that I lost touch with.
2019 was one of the most significant years of the decade for me. So much has happened in this year. I finished college, got myself a boyfriend and had my first kiss, spent an amazing summer with people that I loved, began my very first job, broke up with my boyfriend, left my very first job and have finally settled down in my new job which I love.
Despite the emotional rollercoaster of 2019, I can safely say that the decade has ended on a high. I'm happy and am passionate about everything I am doing or want to do.
Here's to the Roaring '20s!
Until next time...
