LANY released their latest album mama's boy earlier this week (October 2nd to be exact). After hearing singles you!, cowboy in LA, if this is the last time and good guys this was definitely one of my most highly anticipated albums of the entire year.
As a fan of LANY's music for a while now, I'm always looking forward to their next release and they always deliver. They have completely exceeded my expectations with their new album mama's boy. Full of deep emotions, the album is a reference to the bands home roots. The softer, more tender album is still full with uplifting synths and guitars: the bands signature sound.
The band's previous album, Malibu Nights, was one of heartbreak whereas mama's boy is more of a nod to their heritage, more of reflection. The same band but what feels like a completely new identity. LANY are the kings of dreamy-pop and are taking the world by storm. Despite the evergrowing fame, LANY is facing, mama's boy is an album of reflection, reminding us all of our roots.
This is definitely not the LANY we're used to but I like that. A journey to the U.S heartland of LANY's origins gives a humbleness to this album that warms the heart and lets us see a more vulnerable side to the band.
