New and upcoming artists Ulysses Wells is due to release hi debut EP, Can't Take It Much Longer', tomorrow (Friday 25 September). Recently signed by Chris Wood (Bastille) to Du Monde Records, Wells describes his EP is 'Fresh, contemplative and sexy' - what more could we want?
Ulysses Wells supported Bastille on tour last year (remember the days when live music was a thing? - me either!), and Woody (Chris Wood) was blown away, signing Wells pretty quickly and I can understand why!
I asked Wells to introduce both himself and his music:
I was about 5 or 6 and I think I was watching Top of the Pops and I saw some rock band, I think it was Kiss and then just fell in love with RNR and the electric guitar.
I played nylon acoustic guitar with a lovely woman at primary school. She taught Jumbalaya.
Can you describe how you were feeling the moment you were told that Chris Wood wanted to sign you?
I was very excited!
What three words would you use to describe your upcoming EP, Can't Take It Much Longer?
Fresh. Contemplative, Sexy.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Writing music in a nice house near to the sea!
What are your top 3 favourite albums of all-time?
Changes all the time.
