I was invited to spend some time at the Texfest last weekend. I decided to take my mum and little sister along with me to enjoy the hot summer day having fun. The Texfest is a fairly new festival held in Market Harborough in the June month. This year, we were blessed with amazing weather which everyone was enjoying.
Last year, there were performances from a lot of tribute acts but this year, they pulled out the big guns. The likes of Example and DJ Wire, Fuse ODG, Faze, Nick Grimshaw, The Hoosiers, The Shades, Reggie n Bollie, The Fratellis, Lewis Watson and so many more, performed over the three days. I didn't get to see many of them since I was doing some interviews and we didn't stay for too long in the evening. I did watch the videos online though and it looked like as the evening progressed, more and more people showed up and the atmosphere was super energetic!
The Texfest is a family friendly festival. The fair was there and there were plenty of stalls and food trucks there to keep you entertained. My and my sister went onto the Twister a couple of times - we've both got some bruises and scabs thanks to it though! There were dodgems too, which I've not been on in years!
Around the edge of the fields were stalls where you could buy things. Hannah bought a lovely woven backpack which I'm considering stealing to be fair! We both bought an anklet and got our hair braided. There were loads of people waiting to have this done and for just £5, I knew I had to get my hair braided. Last time I had it braided was when I was 5 so I think it's fair to say I was a little excited about the idea!
When we got a bit tired, we would head to the VIP lounge to rest and have a drink - which I had two or three of throughout the course of the day. There were burgers available to us in the VIP lounge too which were so yummy. Just thinking about it now is making me hungry!
Overall, I had such a fun day and I'll be looking forward to see what they have to offer next year!
Until next time...
