My Daily Makeup Essentials

My dream is to cut down my obsession with buying new makeup and skincare products and only use a select few. My holy grails. I want a range of products that I just keep going back for more. I think I've found just that.

Despite being a major makeup junkie (nothing's ever going to change that) I'm definitely at a point where I'm turning to the same reliable products over and over again. Finding 'the one' takes years and years of searching and I'm almost there.

Now I'm not saying that I'm not open to new makeup (please send me all of your recommendations), I just think I've found my perfect products. They'll probably change again and again over the next few years but for now, let me at least think I'm going to use these until I'm ninety, old and frail.

So what are these makeup holy grails, you ask? Well, let's just dive right in shall we!

NOTE: I wrote this before I was aware of some of these brands ethical decisions. I do not condone their behaviour and am currently in the process of trying to find better products to replace them. Please leave your suggestions :)

Some of these products I've had for way too long (I hate to admit that they have definitely passed their shelf life) and they're a bit dirty and damaged...very dirty and damaged. Before this shoot, I did try and clean them up with micellar water - not sure how successful that really was and I was definitely not prepared to show you the inside of my blush (which has funny broken)!

Moving swiftly on from how bad I am at keeping makeup. This does contain a couple of gifted items but I am not obliged to post about these products at all. All opinions on them are my own and if I hated them I would 100% be honest with you about that, but I don't so that's good I guess!

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate (gifted)

Starting off with a primer, the base of all my makeup looks. I really struggle with open pores and this really helps to smooth out my skin. This primer from Embryolisse acts as a moisturiser and primer all in one. It's gentle on the skin and feels super lightweight. With some primers, you can feel it sitting on your skin but because of the moisturiser like qualities of this product, it sinks in and you can't tell that you're even wearing it!

Buy Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentrate for £20.00 at Feel Unique.

L'Oreal Paris Infaillible 24-hour Fresh Wear Foundation

This foundation is lightweight yet has full coverage. It lasts all day and doesn't cling to the skin unattractively like some foundations can. I think it's really hard to find an affordable foundation with such good coverage, is also lightweight and can last for up to 24 hours.

Revolution Pro Brow Pomade

I bought this a very, very, very long time ago although I only recently started to use it. Before using this brow pomade I was very into powdered brow products (don't ask me why - I'd never fo back to them now!). When I started using this, I wasn't really convinced as it made my brows very dark. I have natural eyebrows that are very condensed and dark so to add a pomade made them even worse. However, I've adopted a new way of applying the product which involves toning it down with a beauty blender and brushing the product through my brows. It works and I love my brows when I use this!

Clinique True Bronze Pressed Powder Bronzer (gifted)

I went off bronzer for a little bit as I wasn't able to find the right one that was perfect for my skin tone. I love this one though, it's buildable, easy to apply and looks natural. It's compactable and looks amazing on. The shade isn't too deep but not too light either, definitely noticeable but doesn't make you seem like you have a brown streak across your face. One thing I'm sure of, I'm no good about writing about bronzer haha!

Benefit Rockateur Blush

I got this blush in a gift set a while back, it's lasted me well over a couple of years and it's not even a full-sized product! I am in desperate need of a new one, this packaging has fully broken and the product is well past its usage date but every time I go to buy some more I can't part with £27.00. Maybe soon I'll have an urge of recklessness and I'll buy a new one, haha!

It's a lovely rose gold shade which is very subtle which I like in a blush. Despite the subtility of it, the product is very buildable too which is great for a more glammed up look. Definitely one of the best blushes I've had, it matches my undertones perfectly too!

You can buy Benefit's Rockateur Blush from Benefit for £27.00.

Revolution Pro 4K Highlighter Palette

I love love love this palette! There's only a couple of shades that I use but they. are. BLINDING! I've had this for a loooong time and have been meaning to buy another but there's still a lot more of the product left (especially since social distancing). It has four different shades, which are perfect for most skin types. Since I have quite light skin, I often tend to stick to the lighter, more white shades but there's a couple of lovely gold and blush shades.

Buy Revolution Pro's 4K Highlighter Palette for £8.00 from Superdrug.

NARS Climax Mascara

I am literally OBSESSED with this mascara! I've been using this for over a year now and I haven't really used any other mascara since. It's amazing! People are often complimenting my eyes and lashes and I fully put it down to this one product. The texture of NARS' Climax Mascara is not too wet but not too try and works amazingly at evenly spreading out your lashes adding the illusion of thick, voluminous eyelashes. Highly recommend this one.

You can by NARS Climax from NARS Cosmetics for £21.00.

And that's my essentials! I can't get enough of all of these, they honestly are all amazing. I want to hear some of your daily makeup essentials (or skincare for what it matters) because I'm always tempted to buy more makeup that I definitely don't need, haha!
