LIVE REVIEW: Honeyblood

*I was gifted tickets to this event

Stina Tweeddale is Honeyblood and is slaying it! Honeyblood was once a duo but Stina was always the voice, she wrote music and sings it with so much passion. Her most recent release is single, She's A Nightmare, which has followed a couple of other singles that have been released this year. Honeyblood took some time out and is now back stronger than ever. Her third album, In Plain Sight, will be out on May 24th.

Honeyblood creates fresh alternative-rock with mysterious themes of illusion and deception in more of her recent music, following her experience of being haunted after her second album, Babes Never Die. Full of catchy guitar melodies and heavy drums, Honeyblood entices you with her stunning vocals and strangely captivating music.

She has just begun one of her biggest UK tours and I had the chance to go and catch her live.

There was a great turnout for Honeyblood and everyone seemed to enjoy the night, caching the chance to congratulate her and buy merchandise after the show. The down-to-Earth singer had some technical difficulties on stage, along with her bassist and drummer. Making a joke of it, the crowd were engaged and felt part of the band.

The set opened up with Sea Hearts, a single from her 2016 album, Babes Never Die. The song got the crowd dancing and singing along. Stina's captivating vocals had everyone sining along the whole night to songs, Ready For The Magic, (I'd Rather Be) Anywhere But Here and others. Stina and her band were confident and had great stage presence, the audience were truly captivated. I don't think one pair of eye strayed from the stage.

She played some of her more recent singles from her upcoming album, In Plain Sight. The Third Degree was by far my favourite song of the set and it got a great reception from everyone else too. We also heard her latest single, She's a Nightmare which she played towards the end. Everyone was singing along like their lives depended on it.

Overall, the evening was truly captivating. Like nothing I've ever seen before, Honeyblood is a compelling artist with spellbinding music that I can't get enough of!

You can catch Honeyblood live on her tour here

Until next time...
