Fed Up Of Breakouts? Say Hello To Nip + Fab's Glycolic Acid Range

I've spent ££££ on skincare products to help combat my acne and scarring in the past year. It's something that always brings me down and makes me feel really shit about myself, so I'm always on the lookout for new skincare products to try and battle my insecurities.
Pills and creams from my GP don't seem to work and I have just recently stopped my 3 month trial of Dianette (a contraceptive used for acne) due to my acne being worse than it was before I started and my consistent mood swings and bouts of depression. It was only last week when I was given confirmation that I will be going to see a dermatologist at the hospital regarding my skin issues.

The other day, I went into a local Sk:n clinic to see what treatments they offer for acne that I released that I am pretty much using some of those chemical peel ingredients anyway. Obviously, there are more treatments than just chemical peels, but at this point in time, I have seen a big difference in my skin thanks to two products I have been using religiously.

The other month, Nip + Fab announced their 50% off offer across all products in their store. I had heard such good things about their Glycloic Acid range for acne and scarring that I thought I'd give them a go. So for just over £18, I bought their Glycolic Fix Overnight Purifying Gel, Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads and the Glycolic Cleansing Fix.

I only used the Glycolic Fix Overnight Purifying Gel twice since I started to incorporate more Bio Oil into my night time routine. When I did use it, it made my skin feel a little tighter and I wasn't so much of a fan of it. But I have kept it incase I start using it again. It costs £14.95 from the Nip + Fab store.

I religiously use the Glycolic Fix Foaming Pads every morning. In a tub, you get 30 pads which lasts me just over a month. I only use these pads in the morning, never after a shower so I don't use them every single day depending on my showers. When I do use them, I really do love them though.

They have an exfoliating side and a softer side to them. Firstly, I use the exfoliating side mainly on my cheeks, forehead, jaw and chin which is where I'm prone to spots. I then cover my nose and these areas again with the softer side. It foams really easily and only takes a minute to cover the whole face.

My skin never feels tight or sore after use, always refreshed and clean. Sometimes with facial cleansers like these, your skin can feel dry and tight after use, with these - I've never experienced that. They contain 2% Glycolic Acid which isn't too much to cause issues but just enough to see an effect.

After using, you throw the pad away and wash off any residue. You can buy these for £14.95 from the Nip + Fab store. They often have HUGE sales on, so the other day I managed to pick these up for £5! I'm waiting for them to arrive as we speak.

After my showers, so often in the evenings, I use the Glycolic Cleansing Fix. I was going to opt for their toner but this is very high in Glycolic Acid which for many, can cause skin irritation. Since I have sensitive skin, I opted for the cleanser which only has 2% of Glycolic Acid in it.

Since my pores are open after my hot showers, this is a great time to use the cleanser so it reaches deeper down into my skin where the cystic acne stems from.

It's a liquid based cleanser and can be very runny but it's super easy to rub into the skin and you only need a really small bit. After using it, my face does feel a little tight but there no dryness and I often apply a moisturiser soon after just in case. You can buy this from the Nip + Fab store for £7.95

I love using this product because I really feel like it's having an affect on my acne and my scarring.

Since using these products on a regular basis, I have seen a massive improvement in my acne and scarring. Whereas before, I would have several huge breakouts of cystic acne underneath my skin, and it would be very painful, this has noticeably reduced. This has not been due to the Dianette because I have stopped that and the improvements have been since then.

I'm really happy that I have found something to keep my cystic acne at bay until I see a dermatologist in a few months time.

Nip + Fab have also just released a Salicylic Acid range too which is meant to be very good for acne prone skin so I might try that in the future.

I honestly would recommend this so much if you suffer from really bad acne - be it cystic or not. This will have it cleared in no time!

What are your skincare holy grails?

Until next time...
