Was HELLO WORLD LIVE Really Worth It?

On Saturday 28th October I went to Birmingham to interview New Hope Club and experience the new Youtuber experience, HELLO WORLD. There was a lit of stick about this event, I had a lot of fun when I went but if I was a super fangirl I would have been really disappointed. The event as a whole was an unorganised mess, I think that the organisers had learnt their lesson on the Saturday and apparently the Sunday was a bit better. I don't think a few lists could have saved this event.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate some of the Youtuber's who made appearances but a few of them showed themselves up. Marcus Butler, Oli White, Casper Lee and Louise Pentland were the faces I saw most throughout the day. As for Zoella, Alfie Deyes, Jim Chapman and Joe Sugg, I didn't see much of them. I might be wrong about them but they kept themselves pretty hidden.

The actual floor was pretty amazing, I mean look at this! It was impressive to say the least even if there was no order during the day. The only thing I could pick up on was that the places where Youtuber's were making appearances could have been raised as all I could see was a mass of heads. The queues were immense, there was no way that I was going to get in a line for over an hour just to see a Youtuber that probably wouldn't be there by the time I was at the front.

The performances form New Hope Club, Over Atlantic, The Shades and Houssein that I caught were very good. I was annoyed though as you couldn't hear them much and their stage was shoved in a corner as if they weren't important.

The Body Shop were at the event and kindly did my makeup for me with the new products they have out. I think this would have been the best part for me if I didn't have a backstage pass! The ladies and lads were promoting their campaign for against animal testing which you can sign here. All of these people were so lovely and energetic, I couldn't have asked for anything more from them!

Before everybody came into the arena, I had the chance to chat with the lads from New Hope Club. I had so much fun talking to them about their music, hobbies and zombie apocalypse plan. You can read my interview with them here. these lads are on the uprising and have just returned from touring with Sabrina Carpenter. I think they're off on a UK tour soon!

When I arrived to the event, my name wasn't on the press list and I had to walk around the arena to the back entrance to meet the manager of New Hope Club. On the way I bumped into Over Atlantic who are another upcoming band made up of lads from all across the world. I had a lovely chat with them whilst we were locating the band's entrance and hopefully you'll see an interview with them up on my blog soon!

Throughout the day I waled around the arena and got crushed in a lot of crowds. Whenever somebody big made an appearance everyone would be running and screaming and you got swept away with them. I took advantage of my backstage pass and snuck back to get away from the excitable boys and girls.

Towards the end of my day, during my backstage recovery, I met Tom Daley. Like oh my gosh. he has been my inspiration since I was little and meeting him was a dream come true. He was one of the nicest people that I've spoken to, and I'm not just saying that because of who he is. He is so genuine and happy that you can't help but appreciate him.

I did film my day and you can watch my vlog here...

Did you go to HELLO WORLD? What are your thoughts on the event?

Until next time...

  4. I am so jealous that ou got to meet Tom Daley!
Hello World Live probably isn’t my thing, because I am not a massive fan of big youtubers, but at least there were upsides to going, like getting your makeup done and meeting Tom. Always think of the positives!!

  5. Sounds amazing, but I understand it could be disorganised and stressful! So cool that you got to meet all those people though!
