Exclusive Interview With The Stolen

Press Photography by Felipe Gomez and Kenny Lewis

SURPRISE! Another interview, this time it is with a band called The Stolen. They are absolutely fantastic so you should definitely read this and then check out their music. Before the interview is a bit about The Stolen and their tour dates, if you're in America - go and grab some tickets!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Stolen is a Pop Rock band from Old Bridge, NJ, consisting of Dom Cuce (Vocals), Rob Chiarappa (Guitar/Vocals), Kevin Smart (Bass), and Mike Chiarappa (Drums). The quartet formed in 2005 as neighborhood friends who began performing their favorite covers at shows and built quite a following from taking top hits and adding their own melodic twist. Fast forward a few years, in 2009, The Stolen first began writing their own music and developed a devout following by touring the U.S. and Canada opening for    heavy-hitters Neon Trees and All American Rejects.
The band released their debut EP, Adults, produced by Jesse Cannon and Mike Oettinger, which combined the band’s undeniable catchy hooks with sincere lyrics, unforgettable choruses, and singing guitar solos to define their unique sound. While the EP tells a heartfelt story of growing up, the music varies from lighthearted tracks like "Motion Sickness" to darker emo jams like "Getting New at Growing Old" finding that perfect blend that Alternative music has been waiting for.
The Stolen - 'Getting New At Getting Old'
Following Adults the band released “Chardonnay” an emotionally right tune released in 2015, produced by Paul Leavitt (All Time Low, The Dangerous Summer) premiered through idobi radio's "The Gunz Show” and has been the band's most representative piece to date. Following the extraordinary release, The Stolen have announced a follow up release, I’m So Dead, due out Spring 2016 co-produced by guitarist Rob Chiarappa and Mike Oettinger (Man Overboard, Transit) and mastered by Grammy-nominated German Mastering engineer Robin Schmidt (The 1975, The Black Keys, Mumford and Sons). Fans can be on the lookout for the release of the EP and a U.S./Canada tour this March and April.
The Stolen have recently announced their brand new EP, I'm So Dead which is due out April 8th. The EP will feature five brand new tracks, including "Can't Get Enough" which were produced and engineered by Rob Chiarappa and Mike Oettinger at Retromedia Studios in Red Bank, NJ and Cannon Found Soundation in Union City, NJ. The tracks were mixed by Rob Chiarappa and mastered by Robin Schmidt at 24-96 Mastering in Karlsruhe, Germany.
Okay, so here is the interview!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Just for those who don’t know you yet could you please tell us your names and ages.

Dom Cuce-Vocals (21)
Rob Chiarappa- Guitar/Vocals (23)
Kevin Smart (20)- Bass
Mike Chiarappa(20)- Drums

When did you first get into music?

I (Dom) moved to New Jersey when I was three years old and lived next to Rob (guitar) and Mike (drums), they sparked my interest in music. Their father was in bands and was involved in music his whole life so as they got older and picked up music, I did as well since I would hang out with them everyday.

How was the band formed?

In 2005 we started playing cover songs, mainly classic rock. We were playing block parties and other things like that. Eventually we started to write our own music and play locally. From there we kept writing and started to tour further and further.

Who musically influenced you the most when you were growing up?

We have taken influence from so many artists. We grew up on rock bands like AC/DC, Kiss, The Rolling Stones, and so many more from that era. As we got older, we started listening to many other artists, from the 90’s all the way to many bands that are popular today. We take influence from many types of music, and that shows in the music that we make.

You’re touring around America at the moment, how is that going?

Amazing. We love being out on the road and we can’t thank our fans enough for the constant support, they’re awesome and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.

Do you have any plans to come to Europe anytime soon?

Not at the moment, but who knows what could happen in the future. Europe looks amazing and we would love to come out soon!

Do you have any other hobbies other than music?

I (Dom) play hockey when I’m not on tour. The sport has been a big part of my life so I try to play as much as I can, it’s not to easy to do on the road so I definitely take advantage of that when I am home.

Who are your celebrity crushes and have you met them yet?

Hmmm…that’s a tough one. I’d have to say Emma Watson or Selena Gomez and I have not met them haha.

Do any of you have any interesting party tricks, if so, what are they?

I don’t think we have any, we just like to have a good time.

The Stolen - 'Chardonnay'

Where do you see yourselves and the band in five year’s time?

I see us doing what we do now, making music and touring. Music is our lives and we want to do this for as long as we can.

Finally, is there anything you want to say to your fans, and can you give them a selfie of you whilst doing this interview?

Again, thank you so much to our fans, you guys are awesome and the support is amazing. I said it before but without you guys we wouldn’t be able to do this. See you guys soon!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Honestly, go and pre-order their single because these guys are absolutely awesomely amazing, haha! I hope you enjoyed this, go and follow the lads on Twitter @thestolen and leave some comments, you never know, the lads might read them!
Until next time...
