I am a massive fan of music, there's no doubt about it. So when I got the opportunity to collaborate with radio company, MyVQ, I was ecstatic. I was given the chance to choose what radio I would like to receive, and let me tell you, it was a tough choice! In the end, I went for the Retro MK II as it had so many ways to listen to music. I've never bought a radio, I've either used my alarm clock radio or my phone to listen to music. So I'm sure you can understand how excited I was to unbox this beauty.
There are so many ranges to choose from at MyVQ and it was so difficult to pick. The Retro MK II was the one that stood out the most to me. It has DAB, DAB+ and FM Radio which are amazing quality. It connects to the radio station so quickly and its super easy to change stations. There is also a lighting dock where any Apple user can play their own music through the radio. Fear not if you're an Android fan, Bluetooth is available, there is also a USB port at the back of the radio. Whilst your device is directly connected it is also being charged, which is always a plus! The one down side is that if you have a case on your phone or iPod, you may need to take this off as it won't fully connect properly.
My favourite feature is the Equaliser. In the settings, you are able to adjust the type of sound that you want. If you prefer listening to radio broadcasts, the Speech setting is best for you, this amplifies the speech over the music and background noise. You can have Classic, Rock, Pop, Jazz and so many more. My personal favourite is Rock as it brings out the guitars more, but a lot of the time I stick to Classic just so I don't cause too much of a racket and so that my neighbours can't complain. The sound with this Retro MK II is fantastic. Everything that comes through the speakers is crystal clear and can be heard around the house.
I am super impressed with this radio, it comes in at a cost of £119.99 and to buy a battery for it, it's an additional £19.99. You don't have to buy a battery, the MyVQ's come with a lead and plug which needs to be plugged in if you want to use the radio. I also received the battery which is super handy as it allows the radio to become portable. Although I've now got to figure out how to charge it up since I've worn the battery down.
The Retro MK II comes in 11 different colours and a further 6 patterns in which you can choose from. I went for Cream as soon I'm going to be re-decorating my room and who knows what colour scheme I'll go for! If I was to buy another, I think I'd go for something a bit more exciting, colour wise, as the cream blends too much into the background for my liking. That's perfect for some though!
Until next time...

DeleteThis radio looks so lovely and vintage. It's nice to hear that some one is still really excited to receive a slightly more old fashioned item even when we have all this new technology. I sound like an old Granny but it makes me happy! I really love the pictures you've taken of it as well.
