I love looking at other people's playlists and listening to them because I'm always on the lookout for a new artist/band to get OBSESSED with. So I'm going to do a little breakdown for you of some of the people in my February playlist and also what I'm planning to add for my March one.
Just a disclaimer that I do work with bands and artists to bring you fresh new music so within this post are a few collaborations. I am earning no money from these collaborations and haven't been told what to say so this is not an ad, it's just me telling you about some great people you need to listen too.
Who is featuring on this months playlist?
Time - FONX (In association)
I've supported FONX for a while now (self promo, check out my interview with him) and he creates some real bangers that you need to listen too. He's not mainstream but has music that definitely should be listened to by nations because this man puts so much work into his music. Time is his new single so you should definitely listen to him.
Peer Pressure - James Bay ft. Julia Michaels
Julia Michaels is killing it recently with her collabs featuring people like Niall Horan, Selena Gomez and Lauv. I'm a big fan of James Bay, I love his voice so for this collaboration with Julia Michaels is perfect, they voices work so well together and it's such a lovely song.Lay Low - New Atlas (In association)
So I have no idea why more people aren't listening to New Atlas. His new single Lay Low has a great beat to it but the lyrics have much more of a deeper and raw meaning. The song is all about domestic abuse from a male's perspective. Speaking about his new song and the accompanying video New Atlas says that Lay Low "shows how perfect things can look in the public, and how polarised they can be behind closed doors.".Open Up Your Head - Sea Girls (In association)
I'm a big fan of Sea Girls, I think that they have a really unique sound and they're such lovely lads. They've been named as ones to watch this year by BBC Radio 1 and I can see why. The band are on a highway to stardom, playing at Reading and Leeds this summer, I can't wait to see what they get up to. Guitarist, Rory, describes Open Up Your Head as "about being your own worst enemy but having someone believing in you unconditionally." You can read my live review and interview with the lads here. You can listen to the rest of my playlist below. It features the likes of Avril Lavigne (who is slaying her comeback), Ariana Grande (because that album though), and The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer (wow, they're the whole package with the looks and the great music!).

Who can you expect to see on next months playlist?
Gazelle are local band local to Leicester and have an awesome sound. Their second single Finger on the Trigger was a great song with a contemporary rock sound to it. Local actor, Stephen Graham (Pirates of the Caribbean) backed the lads, featuring in their music video that has over 11k views. The band are going to have some new music out very soon.
Hozier
I've recently got tickets to see Hozier live when he visits Leicester. I've been a fan of him since hit single Take Me To Church and he has just released a new album called Wasteland Baby! Expect to see a tonne of songs from him on my playlist next month!Marsicans
Marsicans recently released their new song, Your Eyes, which I reviewed and spoke to bassist, Rob about. The song is great - you can read my review here.Green Day
I went to go and see American Idiot! at the theatre and it was a great show. It really got me into listening to Green Day in more depth. Some members of the cast have their own music out too so some of that will be added too because they were all amazing live!Who have you been listening to? Give me some recommendations!
Until next time...
