GUEST POST: Tips and tricks to Enhance Your Natural Beauty || Amy Mia Goldsmith

Ladies, here’s one secret you all should know – women are beautiful. They’re beautiful when they smile, when they look at someone with love, when they are fierce. They’re beautiful in their bravery and their happiness. We forget this because we started believing that good looks lie in expensive clothes and airbrushed magazine photos, but we’re here to remind you of a few things. Each of us has something unique that makes her lovely and beautiful, and it’s reflected in how we carry ourselves, and how we use our charm. Get comfy, because here we’ll talk about how we can nurture our own natural allure and make sure we’re brimming with good mood and confidence.

Everyday beauty routine

Beauty isn’t just in glamorous dresses and the long process of getting ready for a night out. It’s in small, everyday things. Morning and evening cleansing, weekly exfoliation, good moisturizers – all of these things don’t take long, but they make a real difference. Use a good serum to target wrinkles and problem areas, or have a dermatologist prescribe you a benzoyl peroxide solution if you struggle with acne. Treat yourself to a luxurious face mask once a week to really help your skin soak in all the active ingredients and make it more radiant. Purple Peach cosmetics has an excellent Detox & Defense Clay Massage & Wash Mask that you can try.

Art through makeup

Finding your perfect foundation is the first step, and you can go with anything from light coverage that will just even out your skin tone, to full coverage foundations that will mask any problem areas such as acne and rosacea. If you have sensitive skin, consider using mineral makeup which is usually very gentle and contains no harsh ingredients.

Use a bronzer to give your face some warm depth, and use a hint of blush on the apples of your cheeks. Lipstick and eyeshadows are two things that give you the most freedom to play, so practice creating two kinds of looks: colourful one for the evening, and natural one for every day.

Soft, luscious hair

Besides proper care, having a haircut that complements the shape of your face can really bring your best features forward. If you’re tired of your straight hair, a GHD Curve Classic Wave Wand can bring it some volume, and give you those Hollywood waves and deep-set, polished curls. Just make sure to use a good heat-protection spray to prevent any damage.

For girls with curly or kinky hair – consider leaving it natural. The days when textured hair types were considered unruly and messy are gone, so let your sexy locks fall free and unrestrained.

Fun with workouts

Don’t like the gym? Then forget the damn gym. Find something that you enjoy doing. Of course, you do need to put some effort in, and pushing your body can feel uncomfortable, but if we find something that thrills us then we’re a lot more likely to stick to it. Practice Aikido, historical fencing, hip hop, yoga, or stay at home and use a stationary bike while you listen to music, or dance in your underwear every day.

Exercising helps us stay in shape, have more energy, and get rid of stress, so find something that works for you.

An appropriate diet

Nothing like a painful hunger pang to make you rethink your diet immediately. No need to be masochistic; the point of dieting isn’t fainting and feeling miserable all the time. The point is learning how to create healthy habits that will last you a lifetime, not only until you’ve lost ten pounds. Consult a nutritionist and create a meal plan that you can stick to. Make health, not skinniness, your primary goal.

These tips can help you nurture your beauty, but they can also help you boost your confidence. Not because you need to be pretty to be confident, but because taking care of ourselves reminds us that we’re important. You, lady, as sexy as hell, and you should remember that every single day.
