Never miss a post

Overview of 2015

Hiya! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas, spent time with your family and friends and got everything you wished for! I had a great time!

I am so sorry about this blog lately, I planned everything for the past month but things somehow managed to get in the way. I was planning a Christmas competition but I got let down by some people and therefore I have had to postpone it. I haven't put a post up since Spotted Sunday but only because I was so busy with last minute Christmas shopping and seeing friends and family. In the new year, I'm going to try my absolute hardest to get regular posts again - however, 2016 is a very busy year for me with exams, coursework, birthday's, holidays, concerts and most importantly school. But, I will try for all of you! I already have several plans for the new year regarding this blog which I am very much looking forward to!

I am going to stop rambling on now and actually get on with the post...

2015 held a lot for me. Unique, moving schools, fantastic experiences, meeting new people and having a great time with my family. In today's post I am going to go over everything that I can remember that has happened to me this year.

Unique - On the 3rd of January 2015 I had my 14th birthday and decided to create this blog, the best
decision that I ever made! I have kept this blog anonymous and non of my friends or family know about this apart form my mum, sister and grandparents. I have experienced new ways of expressing myself through Unique, it has also helped me dramatically with school. Over the past year, my grades have gone up in English, media and CiDA (ICT) and I put all of that down to my blog. I have met so many new friends and have had experiences that my friends can never say that they have had.

I never thought when I started my blog that I would be interviewing artists and bands, getting Twitter mentions off of famous companies and receiving certain things like make overs. I have made so many new friends like Abbie who runs the blog Unicorn Girl 2000, Brett from Kalimur, Austin and Rodrigo from Paper Rockets, Jeremiah from Phase Five, Layla Brisbois, the boys from The Half Eight, the girls from DIZEN Clothing and also Tasha from my local The Body Shop. This blog has not only help me make new friends but it is also helping me towards where I would like to go in the future.

Richard III - I never thought that I would be a part of history. When one of the previous King's of
England was found under a car park the whole wold went crazy, after a year for debates, Leicester finally won against Yorkshire and managed to get King Richard III buried in Leicester Cathedral. It was a last minute decision to go to his Reinturment and I am so glad that we did. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and a very happy one too, despite the main aspect of the whole event. Me, my sister and my mum met two wonderful people - Bianca and Joe - which we still keep in contact with and we all celebrated the previous Kings life in a way in which he would have loved.

5 Seconds Of Summer - I went to my very first concert this year, 5 Seconds Of Summer, I can't wait to see them again next year ( I may have got presale tickets... :) ). This was such a fun experience that I got to share with my family, even if I did get dragged away from their tour bus by my family who insisted that we went shopping instead. I would say that it was the best concert to go to and I would recommend it to anyone who supports them.

Zayn Malik - I haven't really got much to say about this part of my year. I came home, found out about Zayn leaving One Direction, cried a little and then realsised that it wasn't a huge deal. I think that Harry, Liam. Lois and Niall made the most of this and had a great time doing so.

Prom - So much went into the preparation of Prom and it is all recorded on this blog. I shared every
detail with you all - my dress options, hair options, my official outfit and even what everybody else wore. It was a fantastic night even if I was on my own for half of it, the perks of school. I have kept my dress and shoes and now need another excuse to wear both again.

The Harry Potter Studios - I love this place, this year I visited it with my mum and sister for the first time as just us three and we had a great time. We got pictures on the Hogwarts Express and walking through the wall at Platform 9 3/4. In 2016, my dad has promised to take me and my sister so I can go and buy ANOTHER wand!!!!

Moving schools - Just before the summer holidays, my old High School gave us all several past
paper GCSEs and our results would go to our next school. Our school system is very weird so instead of staying in High School for Year 10, we move up to college for our GCSEs and A Levels. Moving schools was hard but I soon relaxed into it - only a few weeks in, we got given tests, I have already done 10% of my Media GCSE and I have a CiDA exam coming up on 11th Jan which is worth 20/25% of my final grade. Fun times! Moving schools hasn't just been good though, you can never escape certain aspects, you just have to learn to get on with it and forget about what people think.

One Direction - Finally, in 2014 I managed to get tickets to my very first and very last One Direction concert. It was a fun experience but unfortunately ruined by all of the little kids. I would have liked to have gone in 2013, but I still loved it just as much ( as soon as you got past the kids kicking chairs, dropping sleep and the flashing headbands ). I had a sore throat the day of the concert and tried my best to drink as much water as possible throughout the night but nothing stopped my voice going in the morning. Unfortunately I had to miss a couple days off school because of it and when I did go back, I still didn't have my voice. I do think it was an infection though as the week after, everyone else had lost their voices too. Kinda worked out in the end ;)

Christmas - This year it didn't feel like Christmas *pouts*. I think it was the weather because it was
either sunny and windy or raining and cold. No sign of snow. But, I still had a lovely Christmas with the family, I got to see my mums face light up when me and my sister gave her present ( a movie night box filled with lots of DVDs, wine, chocolate, popcorn, slipper socks and a new dressing gown ), and my sisters face when she opened hers ( I gave her a Michael Clifford phone case ). When Christmas is over, the tree has to come down in the next 4-5 days as it's my birthday, it;s kind of a relief though as after a while the tree does start to get in the way.

I have had such an amazing 2015 and I can't wait to see what 2016 brings! I hope you had a fantastic year and I also hope you have a happy new one too!

Until next time...

Sophie xx
