You're Not Alone

Hi guys! I am writing this post for anyone who has ever felt lonely in their life. I get it. The other day I had a low point and started to think about who I have to go back to at school, it turns out I have nobody that really cares at school. My point is everybody at some point in their life has felt lonely and depressed and I want you to know that you aren't alone.

I'm not somebody who sits in the corner and doesn't socialise, I do socialise but there is a wall, and behind this wall are all of my thoughts and feelings. I would say that I am friendly with everyone, I have my frenemies but doesn't everyone? The thing is though, nobody - I feel - actually cares and bothers with me and I have come to realise that in the past six weeks, on my summer holiday.

I know from being lonely myself, that you feel like nobody gets you. However, there is. There are tonnes of people around the globe that suffer with similar issues. this post is here to help connect us all, to make us feel like we have someone, that we are not alone in the situation we are in. I want this post to help you through whatever is going on, to make you feel like there is always someone that you can talk to.

I recently watched the film 'The DUFF' (if you haven't seen it, it's really good and read the book too!) and it made me realise that it is the only film that I have seen that ends in the most realistic way possible; beside the love affair - which, let's be honest, is always a bit far-fetched! The whole ending of the story is about accepting of yourself for who you are and that you may not have it all but who cares, it can only get better.

The thing is with all of these films like 'Mean Girls', 'High School Musical' etc. is that they always have the same sort of endings, perfect. They are all happy and the thing is, life isn't like that. Nothing ever ends perfectly, not everyone is popular, not everyone has a load of great friends.

I was recently searching things like 'loneliness teenagers' and other things similar, but what I found was article upon article saying 'exercise, find out why you're lonely, it could be hormones, etc.' but there was nothing on others who suffer too. I think that this is a big issue because there is no advice, help, or someone to talk to for that average teen who feels lonely. Let's be honest here, in every single school that you will walk into, there will always be someone who feels lonely or depressed, even though they might not show it, I know I am that person. And that person feels as if nobody understands, that there is no one else like them...there is.

Sometimes I think that everyone hates me, that nobody actually cares. I am waiting for that day, for when I bump into someone and we instantly click and 5 years later people say 'Are they seriously still best friends?'. There are friends that I have made especially with this blog and they have helped me a lot - this blog has helped me a lot! This is the best thing that I have ever done, honestly. So if you are lonely, depressed or just have your low points, draw, sing, write, do whatever make you happy. I think that writing about it is the best feeling in the world, knowing that you are making others feel better because they're not alone, that makes you feel so much better about yourself.

So, let's talk...

Please don't be afraid to comment or contact me if you want to talk about anything!

Until next time...

Sophie xx
